随着留学热潮的到来，也有越来越多的艺术类学生涌向海外。我们知道，欧洲及美国等发达国家的专业教育已经经历了上百年的历史，无论是服装设计、营销还是视觉艺术等方面，都经历了多年的市场考验，并且针对企业的实际需求延伸出了许多应用性很强的边缘学科，比如商品企划，采购学等，这些专业教育也的确为企业提供了更多可应用型的专业人才。但在国内，在这方面国内却相对比较薄弱。中国学生中有很多学生申请美国服装设计专业的，现在我们就了解一下美国的服装设计专业：
　　美国服装设计学系以培养学生人文素质与表达服装设计创作之专业技术与能力为教育目标，透过作品竞赛、展演等创作验证中发展个人特质与设计创作力，同时为因应服饰产业人才需求以及扩展学生就业空间，分别规划设计、经营企划、生产管理、织品设计等专业辅助选修课程，为服饰产业培育全方位之专业人才。
　　在申请方面，服装专业除了托福成绩之外（仅小部分学校接受雅思成绩），本科生需要参加SAT考试，Mater Degree的话，如果是偏设计方面的专业，一般不需要GRE成绩，但也有少部分学校有要求。
